"I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now..." (Philippians 1:3-5)
Sports Friends seeks to partner with churches in our SIM sending countries in our ministry efforts in Africa, Asia, and South America. These partnerships focus on strategic praying, giving, and going. We believe such strategic partnerships not only contribute significantly to Sports Friends' long-term ministry work in a given country, but also are tools that God uses to bring renewal, blessing, and joy to our partnering churches.
There are many different ways for your church to play a part in Sports Friends’ ministry. We provide opportunities and resources for partnership in these 3 strategic areas:
Become a prayer partner and commit to praying regularly for the Sports Friends ministry.
Hold a fundraiser! Your church could raise money to train new coaches, send kids to camp, or even collect donated sports equipment for us to send out where it’s needed the most.
Send a short-term team. These ministry trips are an excellent way for you to learn more about our ministry, to experience God at work in other cultures, and to help enhance the overall mission of Sports Friends. Check out our current opportunities »
If your church would like to explore strategically partnering with Sports Friends,
With the help of a few rabbits, chickens, homemade cakes and cups of tea, these knitting ladies from England raised £650 for Sports Friends. What could your church do?
Short-term teams from partner churches are sent to enhance the long-term ministry of Sports Friends and our partner denominations. These life-changing trips connect those who go with those doing church planting work, camping ministry, and related sports ministry initiatives. It is our desire that those who participate in short-term trips not only contribute significantly to the long-term ministry, but also become a catalyst in their sending church for renewed passion and commitment to the work of our Lord. Hundreds of people have gone on such short-term church trips and have powerful stories to tell of how God worked in and through their lives!
