Sports Friends is offering internships for those who want to develop skills, passion, and understanding in cross-cultural global mission. Join our Sports Friends team for one or two years in training and equipping leaders in the local church to reach out to young people with the gospel through sports. You’ll grow in your knowledge and experience of making disciples through sports as you serve alongside our Sports Friends workers, receiving training and mentoring throughout the placement.
If you’re in your 20s and 30s and looking to combine your love for sports and your love for Jesus in a mission context, then this could be the perfect opportunity for you! We are offering Sports Friends internship placements in Thailand, Malawi, Perú, and Niger.
An interest in making disciples of young people and a willingness to learn is essential, and coaching experience in football/netball/volleyball would be especially useful. Language learning will be required in each placement, with conversational Spanish required prior to arrival in Perú, and conversational French desirable for Niger. You will receive orientation and training before your departure and during your placement in a range of areas:
Biblical Discipleship | Ministry Experience | Multicultural Teams You will be required to cover the costs of the internship, and so we encourage you to raise financial support.
Theology for Mission | Church Centred Sports Ministry | Cultural Transition & Language Learning
SIM & Sports Friends | Partnership Development | Personal Development Plan
