Sports Friends is a ministry of the international mission organization, SIM. As such, we affirm SIM’s purpose, core values, and statement of faith.

To see a global movement of churches using sports to make disciples of Jesus Christ.

To equip churches and church planters to use sports to make disciples of Jesus Christ among young people, their families, and their communities.

Our Motivation

We are convinced that no one should live and die without hearing God’s good news.

42% of the global population are under age 25.

Many young people around the world face enormous challenges.

Poverty, conflict, gangs, addiction, abuse, broken relationships, mental illness, questions about their identity… and so the list goes on.

What can the Church do to help?

We believe that sports ministry serves as a powerful tool for the Church to build relationships with young people and share with them the hope of the gospel. Much more than a sports coach, these “life coaches” are mentoring and loving young people, walking with them through life’s challenges, and helping them to become mature disciples of Jesus Christ. By God’s grace, lives are being eternally impacted, new churches established, and entire communities transformed!
